Waiting for the next book, read all the 5 books, and heard sixth is on the way, so what tentative dates can I expect.

      Hi Sid,

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you – I’ve been travelling quite a bit. Book number 6 (I’m hard at work on it just now and really enjoying it) will be out in spring 2015 (It has no title as yet …)

      Hi Amit and Somali,

Your appreciation of the books means a lot, thank you. Number six is mostly written and should be out next spring. I learned so much during the research for it.

very best wishes to you both

and, by the way, isn’t there any offer to make it into movies yet?? I bet if handled correctly, this series could be bigger than the ‘Lord of the Rings’.
I wish I had the money to produce it :).

      Hi again, Amit,

Who knows, it might happen one day. People keep talking about it. Sometimes I start to think about the casting. Who should play Babur?

      very best wishes

        Hi Alex,
have you heard of Shahrukh Khan or seen any of his movies? If not then try ‘Chak De India’. He has the charisma to play Babur, and if it has to be a young actor then, Siddharth Malhotra could also be an option. I’m really not sure if any Hollywood actor would be able to do justice to the role, but then being an Indian I might be biased :).

        Best regards,

Hi and many apologies for taking so long to reply. I’ve been on the move (at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland). I do indeed know Shahrukh Khan and his work. He would be a superb choice for the mature Babur. I don’t know the younger actor you mention but will look out for him!

          with best regards

    Hi Alex,
I enjoyed reading all the books of the Moghul series especially “The Tainted Throne” and “The Serpent’s Tooth”.

The Tainted Throne – What I enjoyed and learned is about the details of the relationship between Mehrunnissa and Jahangir. Especially about Mehrunnissa, her contribution to Indian culture and also for her significance in maintaining the political power – a rare feat at that time.

The Serpent’s Tooth –Everyone remembers Shah Jahan for two things – Love for Mumtaz and Taj Mahal. By reading this book, I got to know Shah Jahan the man, the emperor, the father, his political decisions and many things. Another important character was Jahanara. I could just wonder what if Shah Jahan had spent some time with his sons. This would have contributed for a stronger bond between the brothers. What if Shah Jahan would have taken good care of himself after Mumtaz’ s death?

At present, I can just do one thing that is eagerly wait for the next installment in the series: “Traitors in the Shadows” which I suppose is about Aurangzeb.
I hope it provides more insight of Jahanara as a person and also highlights in detail the conflicts between Aurangzeb and Shivaji the Maratha ruler.

I would love to know the release date of this book in India.

Hi and many thanks for your comments. I’m glad you were so intrigued by Mehrunissa.

Jahanara is indeed a key character in ‘Traitors in the Shadows’ and I hope you will think I’ve done full justice to her role and her relationship with Aurangzeb. The new book is out in May.
very best wishes and thanks for your interest
